Comment: It  still amazes me that while most see me as just another old and presumably irrelevant guy (just ask my sons!), that in my mind I still am the kid I was when I was at Mankato West.

To sum up my story in a few words -- life is complicated but very sweet. I have three kids -- two boys and a girl (ages 18, 14, and 12). They are my most cherished accomplishment, even if they can be frustrating beyond all imagination. To see the world through their eyes is exciting, scary, and a priviledge.

I live in Portland, which I found by accident, but the quality of life, the environment, and the general live-and-let-live culture has kept me here for 30 years. Oh yeah, the outsanding coffee helps too. :-)

I am recently re-married and if children and work can be complicating, in Jackie I find my sweetness.

Anyway, thank you to everyone who posted and told a little about themselves. It is very fun to read and catch up on the memories that time has dulled but never erased. I am not able to attend your 35 renunion but I will send you all good thoughts.

Comment: Wow, it’s hard to believe so many years have passed since we walked across the stage.  From that day my life has been an interesting journey on a road full of twists and turns.  After earning a chemistry degree from Gustvaus I lived in Illinois, Georgia, and Colorado for 10 years.  During that time I was involved in drug research and environmental work.  Subsequently I’ve lived in the Twin Cities where I’ve been a consultant and scientist.  Though I never cared much for high school I did eventually develop a love of learning which led me to complete master’s degrees in chemistry and engineering along with a doctorate in toxicology.  These days I work for Medtronic where I serve as the corporate toxicologist, which is a pretty cool job.  In my spare time I’m still a bicycle nut and enjoy riding single-track trails.  After my parents passed away trips to Mankato became less frequent.  Nevertheless, it remains one of my favorite places.  Someday when I retire I’d like to move back there and open a bike shop!

Comment: Finally single after 30 years and loving every second of it! Two of three children are off on their own making their way in life (awesome watching them become their own person). Youngest daughter is halfway through college. I'm enjoying life and exploring new things... travel, hobbies, new people.... oh and working once in a while too!

Comment: Great Job on this website!!! What a wonderful vehicle to stay connected. Isn't technology great? My husband, Scott, and I have been married 23 years and have lived in Eden Prairie 18 of those years. ( Looks like I'll be in EP longer than I lived in Mankato. Ha!) We have two fun kids: Ryan (22) and Megan (20)... both student at the Carlson School of Management at the U of Minnesota. I am delighted they are both close to home so we can see them and their friends from time to time. This empty nest thing is a new adventure and allows for some great travel. I am trying to tag along with Scott on a business trip to Europe over our reunion. I am a definite.."maybe" at this time. I'll send a donation ....just cuz. I know the work that goes into the planning. GOOD JOB ORGANIZERS AND THANKS FOR TAKING ON THE TASK!! ~ Lisa
